The alt. connection is burned and melted most likely do to overcharging or loose connection. Check all your ground connections and replace the alt. and repair the connections. The most overlooked charging problems are caused by dirty battery cable ends or corrosion running up the battery cables under the insulation. This is seen by the fattening of the cables at the clamp ends. The one end with the rubber boot should be a large white wire with a red tracer and the goes on the 6mm stud that has insulation at the base. The other 2 wires should be in a plastic connector and are voltage reg. connections.
