alternator trouble....?!

alternator trouble....?!
well yesterday i went for a test spin...and it started to just die out after 3 rpms...then wen i parked the car just shot off....i tried re starting it but it didnt even turn over...all lights are there tho...any help please!!??

Sounds like the alternator to me. Have you messed with any of the wiring lately? If so, check the grounds.
If you know somebody with a multimeter, test the battery to make sure that it's ~12v and jump-start the car to see if the alternator is charging.
If it is charging, the voltage at the battery should be ~14v with all your accessories off.
