Well, ive been fiddling around with my car.. and ive tried everything under the sun to make the alternator adjust in tension.. theres the Locking bolt, and the adjusting bolt.. the locking bolt will unlock/loosen, i loosen it about 10 turns or so, and then try to loosen the adjusting screw, and it just comes out,. like. instead of the alternator moving in.. it just sits where its at, and the screw loosens out.

why is my alternator not adjusting.. (KA24E BTW).. i need to get this darn belt on.. (my old belt ripped off.. so.. i wasnt able to loosen it that way)

There is a point where the alternator won't move any further. Belts on the S chassis cars are a bit of a pain in the ***. Just muscle it on there and try not to rip the belt.

Oooook.. Im a moron.. I figured out what i didnt do.. there is 1 bolt, that goes across the width of the bottom of the alternator.. its the one that holds it on the engine. So, after litterly using my own 600ft/lbs manly force on the bolt, it loosened.. WD40 owns.. Anywho, got it loose, and it adjusted perfectly.. belts went on effortlessly, and possibly easier than any car ive screwed with before.. like. I could probably do it now without even removing the intake piping.
