hey

i know its a noob question but are there any write-ups on how to change the alternator? my alternator just gave out and i need some help. i know its not the battery because i recently bought it and i checked the voltage and it was ok. thanks in advance.

Well, it's easily visible. Disconnect the battery. Remove the engine cover (5mm allen). Use a 14mm wrench to push the belt tensioner back and remove the belt. remove the IPDM (10mm nut, and a release clip under the IPDM case cover). Remove the IPDM and set aside. Remove the IPDM bracket (two 12mm bolts). This will give you access to the lower alternator mounting bolt. Remove the 12mm nut holding the cable on (under the red boot). Remove the electrical connector from the alternator. Remove the two alternator mounting bolts. You should be able to remove the alternator.

which one is the tensioner pulley? is it the one with the bolt sticking out it? sorry for the noob ?'s

Its below the alternator and above the a/c compressor. It has a 14mm bolt head. Put a wrench on it and turn it clockwise to release tension on the belt.
