alternator---???

my RB20DET is acting up an sqeelin back when u first start it..once it warms up it stops..however,the lights go very dim until it starts sqeelin,then while its still sqeelin they get really bright..after all that and its warm they arent as bright..do i need a new alternator,and if so then where the hell can i buy a new one???engines a mess,i will appreciate any advice.........

use a ka24 alt.. i did it and it worked intll my goold old ka alt died.

have to custom fit it .

1) tighten the alternator belt

2) replace the alternator belt, if step 1 doesnt fix the problem.

If I remember correctly, the N/A 300ZX alternator is the same.

Tensioner backed out and belt is slipping simply tighten the belt .

Can someone confirm if the NA Z32 alternator will work on an rb25?

Not sure about the Z32 but I know the Ka24e alternator does. You just have to notch out the bracket a little more for a proper fit.

What they said.... Or another option... Nissan Quest 110amp alternator. It's not a direct drop in, there is some slight modification/fabrication you'll need to do. But it has another 20-30amps over the stock alt. Search on this topic, there are some good threads on it already.
