Anybody know the # for replacement alternator for the rb20 series motor? Anyone know if the 300zx will work ????

Correct me if I'm wrong...but I think the KA alternator will work. Not sure if there is a difference between the KA24E and the DE though. But I think there is some slight modification you have to do. Someone can probably give you much better details than I....

If your using the lower harness from your KA, i beleive the SOHC has the wires switched on the alternator. I know i had to swap the wires on the plug for my 25 when i swapped the regulator from a DOHC.

You're killing me, 240240. You've got THREE threads on this alternator problem. People can help you better if you keep it all in one thread. That way everyone can keep up with your progress, and we will have (hopefully) better suggestions.

Keep it in one thread, preferably with a descriptive topic title like you did the first time.

Btw, I don't think your alternator is the problem, but if you search, you'll find that you can use the KA alt. with some small modification.

only modifying that you have to do for the alternator to work is that black bracket....ream out the center hole going NW

I got it fixed guys, one of the small wires that comes out of the plug on the alternator was shorting out, therefore not charging my battery
