I know that there is a DIY thread for alternator replacement already up, so I'm sorry to post this again. I am not exactly what you might call mechanically-inclined. Here's the situation:
I have a 1986 Nissan Datsun pickup that was given to me by a friend (who insisted that I get a vehicle, he was tired of me riding my bike everywhere I went). About 1 week after receiving it, the alternator died. I went to get a replacement at O'Reilly's, and as it turns out, I have a 1985 engine in the 1986 body (the person who sold the truck to my friend failed to mention this to him). I managed to install the alternator alright, but now I am at a loss for where the wires attach (a moron claiming to be my "friend" removed the old alternator, so I didn't see where anything was connected before it was removed). Here are some pictures of the engine (I know it's really dirty....) and the alternator. Any help would be greatly appreciated; as I mentioned before, I don't know much about vehicles, so please pardon my ignorance. I need to get this baby running before August 1, as I am starting a new job that's too far away to reach with my bike.
