I was told by dealer that the alternator is bad. Though I did not have any issue in the last 2 weeks ( in the last 1 month my car stalled twice and worked fine after jump starts)

Now for the alternator, should I re-build, buy new from Autozone/Napa or buy new from Dealer.

Re-build is asking me only $150 including installation.

Autozone/Napa: About $200 and service extra.

Dealer: $270 and $230 installation.

Please let me know the good and bad of each one.

I see that it is not recommended to rebuild - what do you think.

You should be fine with an autozone alternator. Just be sure to have them test it before you leave the store.

Maybe you should also get AutoZone to run their diagnostics as a second opinion. I have no idea what they do though...

Replaced mine today. That is the worst bunch of BS, trying to get it out.

Used an Autozone special. $179.

Was going to take pics and do a writeup, but was way too angry to mess with pics. Sorry guys. If there ius anyone with a Maxima near Olympia and needs the alternator replaced, I can help you, but you have to take the pics.
