it puts out 110amps, not 135. you'll need a new relay - 4th gen uses a 120amp and a battery that won't blow up from the extra charge.i don't feel like going out to check right now but pretty sure it's clockwise.

it won't charge because i bet yours has a smaller amp relay. check it and if it's blown put in one from the 4th gen. sorry for missing words in earlier reply. when i said it uses a 120amp it meant the relay/fusible link.

fyi...you'll get over 110amps charge when the alternator is over 9000rpm, but i don't know what eng rpm's that would be.

if you need help locating all that check the fsm: nicoclub.com/FSM/maxima/1994

dude, you are asking for a lot because the fsm website always crashes. the fuse, fusible link or relay have a similar function but look diferent. under the hood you have 2 or 3 plastic boxes with covers on the - i'm guessing. they hold relays, fuses etc...just check all the ones that have something like alternator/alt, battery/batt or charge written on them...well not on them but under or on top of the box cover. you'll know if they're busted by seeing a broken link inside or feeling broken or melted wire if fusible link - they usually look like butt connectors.

o, and i forgot you have a j30 so instead of using the link i gave you go http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/J30/1994_J30/
