I did a quik search and found nothing , not sure if anyone else has had this problem or not. since i first did the swap i've had this problem but since the car was not driveble i did not pay much attention to it. well the car has been eating up batteries like there is no tomorrow, and my initial tests indicated that the alternator was bad. This weekend i went and bought a new alternator (KA) installed it started the car, after a bit i unhooked the negative cable and guess what the car died. So i hook it up again and the lights are super dim, showing a week battery, now the battery is brand new. today i took the old SR alternator and got it tested, and guess what it shows all good. the only weak part of it was showing low voltage under load, like running the headlights or what not. I am wondering what else could be wrong. i checked the wires this weekend and everything seemed to be good. some one HELP

So, it sounds like your battery is just no picking up any juice from the alternator, yet your tests show you alternator is working OK, not stellar but ok. I would check fuses back to battery and your grounds. Heres the FSM pages on troubleshooting charging system

could be that your belts are loose.

I think one would notice that.

Sounds to me like grounds or like someone else said bad power connections from battery to altenator because the motor should run with the battery unhooked once running. Check your Altenator,Engine, and chassy grounds and check the power wire from the Alt for voltage and trace it back to the fuse box to check fro any splits.

sorry to revive an old post but i just wanted to add some answers incase someone searches in the future, they can find a answer

so here is what the problem was, the B wire coming from the alternator which looks like a groundwire ( why nissan choose this is beyond me ) was grounded to the block, i connected it to the fuse box and voila, it is all good, had to open the lower harness to figure it out but it is done, here is a link to the pics, i have everything explained in the pics, the link is incase the pics wont uploadhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/5...08902/

the process is explained from this pic to the side of fuse box pic
