gahhhh this stupid alternator plug will not let go!
It is the last piece holding on.. the front of the housing of the plug has already broken off.
It seemed like there was a piece to push forward on the top to make the whole plug slide out backwards. I have already pushed the top piece all the way forward.. but still nothing.

It is in the most awkward spot too!
any ideas?

never mind... got the plug off!
replacing the alternator on these trucks sucks!!

next question.. on the main long bolt that holds the alternator in place.. is there supposed to be a nut on the end? or is there some kind of piece that the bolt threads into? I am installing the new alternator and I slide the main bolt right through everything and now there is nothing for it to thread into? When its all together I can see the threads on the end of the bolt just spinning into nothing.. but there is no way of getting my hand back there to hold a nut in place.
something must have fallen off??

Hey, you never mentioned how you got the stupid alternator plug out... can you describe, if you can remember?

I'm having the same issue.... can't get the darn thing to budge.

I think it was just jammed. My pops ended up getting it off not me.
The alternator job was a major pain in the a** and I would recommend just paying for a shop to do it lol

Mine was melted into the alternator, which is why it wouldn't come out.
