I checked all in the part #'s thread, and couldn't find a part # for the RB20 alternator. Mine works, but it SQUEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKS and it will not stop for ANYTHING. The belts are brand new, so I know they're not slipping. I got down there with a flashlight and listened really close, the noise (what a GOD-AWFUL noise) is definitely coming from the alternator itself.

Anyone know the part number for the RB20 alternator, or *even better*, what other Nissans use the same alternator so I can go junkyard hunting?

I don't think there is one in the states, which is what I have researched in the past.

Look in your local yellow pages for Starter/Alternator Rebuild shops. $100 later and you will basically have a brand new alternator........

I think they're similar to the Z32 alternators. They do have the same voltage/amperage specs, that I'm sure of.

I'd take it apart and lube the bearings a bit. That should help. If not, rebuild it.

looked it up in FAST. p/n is 23100-85L11, alternate p/n is 23100-85L12.

Not a USDM part, prolly better to rebuild it.
