My son's 1994 Altima GXE had an alternator problem, while he was driving the alternator started putting out too much current.. his wipers turned on by themselves and went so fast it threw an arm into the woods. When the main fuse finally blew the car shut down. So far we have replaced the alternator, wiper motor (it wouldn't shut off), all stop light bulbs(they all blew out), and the flasher relay which was also burnt. The car will start now but many systems are still not working, such as power locks, power windows, tachometer, speedometer, temp gauge, rear defogger, cig lighter. Every fuse has been removed and visually inspected only a couple were blown and they were replaced. I see in reference manuals that there is a circuit breaker in the window/door lock circuit, but have no idea where to look for it... anyone with any ideas or hints????

Look for a burnt fusible link in the engine compartment fusebox.

sounds like you will have to bust out the dmm (digital multi meter) and check for burnt wires.

Unfortunatly, with these situations you simply have to start tracing with a multimeter to try and determine the problem. Start with the fuse boxes under the hood and work your way back.
