Hello,

I have an issue with my charging system that i believe to be a wire harness issue. I took the alt to a alternator rebuild shop and they did a load test. Its passed. good i guess.
i bought a new fusible link. no luck.
i looked at all the connectors for a burnt wire/connector.. all good.
  • blue connector good : E32 > A1
    black connector good : E33 > A2
Alternator plug good : A6 alt harness
    all grounds good.
so i found a couple plugs that i could not find out where to plug but seem very important to signal the temp, oil sensor, etc..
  • From Alternator Harness + Engine room Harness
    plug name:
    A3
    A4
    A5
Images: link will be killed in a couple days..

My car was an Auto to Manual.. I truly thought i bought a manual Alt harness.. but would this affect me with the ERH being auto?
i googled an found some interesting things about this plug.. on converting auto alt to manual.. but i don't believe mine is a auto..

to my final questions:

1. How can i confirm this is not an auto alt harness...
2. Would this cause my Charging System issue?
- a. My alt wont charge my battery.

thank you for the help.. i been stuck on this issue for weeks now..

I am not 100% sure on this but about 95%.

1) I don't think you can tell by just looking at the connectors.
2) I don't think the difference between a Auto/Manual trans harness will cause a alt charging issue. I believe the difference mainly lies in how the rear lights and starter operation functions.

My suggestion would be to contact wiring specialties and ask them, they reproduce harnesses for manual, auto and auto to manual conversions for the Z32.
