Im currently having my alternator rebuilt off my S2 25. There are no part number on the casing or on the regulator. I gave the guy the part numbers that gawdzilla pulled out of FAST a while ago, but they werent the right ones, neither regulator was right. does anyone have a part number for the alternator i can give this guy?

Normally if you just take it to a rebuilder they will find out which parts they are in need of and find an alternative part that will interchange with it.

The guy i have rebuilding it tried to match the regulator up with other nissan part numbers, but none lined up. He said it wont be a problem getting the regulator, he just needs a part number off the alternator.

I did the same thing as DETturbine. I took it to them and he ordered the right one. Might want to find a new guy since he can't cut the slack.

They had no problem with my starter and alternator. I brought it to Temple Electric a shop in my town and in a week they were both as good as new and ready to go. They just took out what they thought was going bad or might go bad and matched it with parts from there part book or the shelf. Thats all they do there is rebuild electric motors.

These aren't very clear, but what you need to do is trim about half of the flange. You will be left with 1/2" of flange left.

I gave this guy the part numbers and he comes back to me telling me he cant get any regulator to fit and he cant rebuild it. Now i have to drive around finding a guy who can rebuild it. I hate lazy people.

this seems alot easier than what everyone else does with the bracket.. if you look on the bottom you can see the pics of what I did with the bracket.. Just extend the bottom hole.zerothread?id=114586

Well you have to do that to get the KA one to fit. I also had to cut it there was no way it would fit otherwise on mine...

so you had to adjust the bracket and the alternator to make it fit? I had a 92 ka24de alternator, were you using one from a ka24e?

I put my de alt. on today because I thought the RB alt. was bad (found out I forgot to attatch a wire after it was ALREADY DONE!!!) and I did not have to cut anything on the alt. itself. Just modify the bracket a little like shown.

Well i dont have my KA alternator anymore, so im going to stick to getting this rebuilt. But ive taken the alternator to 2 different places and both told me they couldnt find a regulator that would work. Does anyone know what regulator theyve been using to rebuilt these or a number of a place where they successfully rebuilt the alternator already, I may just ship it out to someone i know can get the parts.

Wow.. your rebuilders suck! :p

Shipping it off and having it rebuilt and shipped back is gonna be costly, you might be better off finding another alternator that doesn't need to be rebuilt.. I dunno.

well, i wouldnt nessesarilly ship it off, but if anyone has a phone number, maybe the shop would be nice enough to tell me what regulator they used. So please post if it you have it, or email me.
