Hey guys,

I was looking ahead in the future. After my SR swap. My car stereo. (At least I got my priorities straight, eh? :pface)

I'm looking at different setups. To keep it simple, it has been calculated that my system can draw as much as 65 amps for at a peak for a spilt second (when I have the stereo cranked and the sub hits hard simultaneously.) I will be running with a 1 farad capacitor to soften the blows to the alternator.

Isn't the stock alternator only a 70 amper?

When you buy the S13 Blacktop, say from AfterDark Tuning, is an JDM alternator included? If so, is it rated any higher than the US one?

I have heard that you can use like a '95 Sentra alternator (~90 amp) on the KA motors. Do you guys know of any better units that are compatible with the SR20?

Thanks.

Well according to HT you "can use some DOHC KA Alternators." Which I guess means one of them should fit. Im not sure on the specs however though I doubt the SR alternator would be superior to the KA.

I read on a Nissan/Datsun Z site that the '95 240SX uses a 90 Amp alternator. Will this bolt up to the SR20?

Any info about any compatible alternators would be a great help.
