You know what sucks is that neither a long time member of this forum, nor a NISSAN MASTER TECHNICIAN was able to give a reasonable response to this person... I dont really appreciate EITHER of these posts by EITHER party, which are both considered respected parties on this forum.... Very disappointing, and im not really happy.
At any rate, to give the original poster some feedback on your problem.
Basically the alternator isnt really hard to replace, but its not really easy either... Its sort of an intermediate sort of job... You will probably want to remove your radiator and radiator fan, as well as your battery.... From there, you will need to take the alternator belt off, probably easiest to take the tensioner pulley out and then you cna just slide the belt off... There are the 2 bolts that you take out, sometimes you need to unbolt the AC compressor from the block of the car.... Sometimes that helps gain access to the nut on the back....
From there its pull the old one out, unhook it, and replace.... IF its the original alternator it may be kind stuck in there, so youll probably have to fiddle iwth it to get it out.... Its a fairly straight foreward job.
