So long story short I had an... issue with the alt. After jumping the car and not able to stay on, I've since replaced the alternator. After I put the new OEM one in from z1,(tt alt, 10 amp difference, shouldn't be an issue), I tried to start the car. Hooked up cables and the high's start flashing on and off, anti-theft. Played with some things, car wouldn't start, unplugged the anti-theft fuse from in the engine bay, car started right up but ran like s***, on 5 cylinders. Put the anti-theft back in while car was running, instantly back up on all 6. Interior lights wouldn't work, neither would the radio. Guessing battery. This anti-theft thing has me really confused. Anyone have any input? :wtf2:

FYI, having more available amperage from the alternator doesn't affect anything unless your load is demanding it. If they existed at that size, you could put in a 1000Amp alternator, and it would be fine.

Sounds more like you have other electrical problems than the alternator. Maybe let it sit unplugged from the battery for 10 minutes to let everything clear back out. I'm not aware of any way that the anti-theft system should be able to affect the ignition system. Also, I would just check your fuses for lights and battery. You may have blown them as the alt died and voltages dropped, so you were pulling more current to try and compensate.

Did, got the battery tested and re-charged. Put it in and the car started up, running on all 6. But can't idle on own now. She will flux around 800-300 then die out. Also got some smoke coming from the back of the engine towards the firewall, also somehow leaking oil now.. ugh..
