Alternator belt question

i have a ca18 and the belt goes to the alt, water pump, and crank. But i've purchased the 4pk856 instead of the 4pk855 that is reccomended. i'm wondering is there a big difference, since its just off by 1mm. But another thing is my alternator is whining a lot so i really hope that its because of the belts because its much cheaper than a alt. rebuiild.

any info on the belt sizes would help, thanks.

It should not make a difference if the belt uses the same amount of ribs as the original. The belt more than likely is squealing because you havent put enough tension on the belt. Tighten it up some more and see if it goes away.
