Has anyone tried to cool their turbo without getting the oil form the engine? I’ve been thinking about creating a completely separate oil reserve for the turbo so that I can guarantee that the turbo is receiving fresh oil and that the turbo doesn’t pickup any trash from the engine. I am posting a diagram of what my proposed idea is let me know what you think.

Rrakon(I don’t understand the whole radiator ect thing. aren’t you gona use a separate aftermarket oil cooler?)

The reason that I was going to use the radiator from an automatic is because supposedly a turbo needs warm oil flowing through it so that the fluid in the turbo will remain a constant temperature. If I used the radiator to heat up the oil then I would have less chance of pulling cool oil up into my turbo and cracking the turbo because of the difference in temperature. If I used an external oil cooler then the oil going to the turbo might not be warm enough. I’m just trying to think of a way to make the turbo last longer and be moor reliable, plus if I over boost my motor I wont have to buy another turbo.

OK i see what you mean. I think it probly being used on some of the serious drag cars. When your using a turbo the size of a cantalope you gota have a good way to cool it. look at some on the sites for the drag cars.
