i have a 2007 g35 coupe. I was wondering if there is an alternative way in mounting the front license plate so it wouldn't look so ugly. I would prefer not to mount it at all but my sister got a fix it ticket for her car yesterday so that got me thinking about my car. I know nismo makes the one that you don;t need to drill holes. Just wondering if anyone out there got an creative pictures of how they mounted their front license plate. what are the chances of a cop in CA pulling you over because of front plates?

just saw Europeans plates...we can input our lincese plate and have them make it euro style..? can we get away with that? looks pretty coolhttp://www.licenseplates.tv/pr.../4081

If your state requires a front plate, I doubt it would be OK to have your own plate made in a different style...

No, that is not legal in California. I gave my stepson my car, and he lives in San Jose. He got a fix it ticket before he transferred the registration because of this. California cops are strict. They didn't like the plate in front being cut down.

Check out the Stillen website. They make a mounting kit that screws into the spot where the tow hook would go. That way you don't have to drill holes in your bumper. I need to get one myself. I think they cost around $65.

I live in Texas and we are supposed to have a front plate, but when I got my car I looked at all of the Jag XKs that didn't have one mounted and decided not to put mine on either. Haven't been stopped yet. Seems like many of the luxury coupes in town don't have the front plate mounted. Guess it's not a priority with the law here. Hope I continue to get away with it. Otherwise, I'll have to check out the Stillen site. I can't stand the thought of drilling into my bumper.

Carefull with that assumption! Here in Orygun there are luxury cars buzzing around w/o the front plate. I tried it once and I learned an expensive lesson.I don't think they care for the excuse of "but HE did it!!!!!".

In CA, it's a fit-it ticket. If you happened to get ticketed, mount the plate, get it signed off by a cop, go to court to show proof, pay $10, take off the plate and you're done. I bought the stillen front plate mount when I had my G35 to avoid drilling holes. Luckily, I only had to do it once.

The stillen bracket looks really good. Here's mine. If you're a member of G35Driver.com, I can hook u up with a buddy of mine on there that sells these for cheaper than the stillen website does.
