I'm trying to hook up my RB26 into my 74 S30 Z car, and I can't seem to get the alt hook up correct.

I had it hooked up to the Z car harness, and it is charging 13.8v - 14.5v while at idle, but when I rev it, it spikes to 16 - 18v and causes my standalone ECU to spazz out, which make the motor run like crap.

I've given up trying to splice it into the Z car engine harness, so what I'm looking for here is some body that knows for sure to tell me how to hook a internal regulated altenator up from scratch...

Example; on the back of the alt, hook heavy wire from Bpost on alt to + post on batt., then to positive post on starter solenoid.

Then hook green/red wire in brown plug on side of alt to ??Then hook white/red wire in brown plug to ??

Here is a pic of the brown plug thats on the RB26 alt shown below.~click~

Have you tried posting this question in the RB forum? If you go and look just before where the threads start, you will see a quick link to the RB forum.

You might have a better chance of getting your question answered there as that's where all the discussions on the motor itself take place. Here, we just talk, discuss and dream of Skylines themselves.

If you have any problems find it, let me know.
