Hey, I'm new here, and to 240's for the most part. This is my first one, I bought it as a shell with a ka24de, and sil front. Its a '89 so I done the de swap, and I have also done a manual conversion. It's all in the car now, and I have it turning over, but the fuel pump isn't getting power, and the alt fuse is blown. I have done a lot of searching on this site, and have came up with a few possible issues. It's in my friends garage, so I don't get to work on it everyday. Next time I'm there I'm going to check the plastic washer around the power terminal on the alternator, and look for any odd looking wiring around that area. Is there anything else that I should look for concerning the problems I am having? I will update when I find out what the issue is. Thanks in advance for any help anyone may give.

Have you checked all of the fuses and relays, instead of just the alt fuse. By alt fuse, you are referring to the FL100A(the s13 might be FL75A or something)fuse right? When mine blew, the car still ran, but it was running strictly on the battery. Check the rest of the fuses and tell us if you find anything

Thanks, I'll check those tonight. There is a ground issue somewhere, if I try to cross over the alt fuse (its the 75 amp fuse-able link) is arcs. So, I know there is an issue there. I will let you know when I'm positive about all the other fuses and relays tonight. Eng cont, fuel pump, and the headlight fuses are all good, I replaced them with new. The egi relay, with it pulled out, I'm getting power to three of the prongs, knowing a little about relays, that doesn't seem right. The egi pump relay only has power at two, when the relay is removed. That seems normal there, but I'm not sure the relay is coming on or not. I'll check the relays themselves toinght. Thanks again for the help. I'll update this tonight when I find some things out.

Gay electrons..... they go around blowing the damn fuses.

You have a short for sure after the link at the alt. I can probably say that the wire on the alt is touching the alts frame somehow. You should pull the alt cable off and inspect and reinstall properly. As for the fuel pump it should be priming, make sure you check the other fuses like Hoffman said.

Update: I have the alt fuse problem fixed. It ended up being the plastic washer behind the positive post on the alt. It wasn't there, so I just used a small piece of gasket paper. Now on to my fuel pump issue, out of the five wires going to the fuel pump. The white/purple is hot, the yellow/green is hot, the blue/red is a ground, and the black of course is a ground. My only question now is the solid yellow wire. I tried putting power to it and nothing. Because of this, I'm under the assumption that the fuel pump is not any good. If anyone has any input on this I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks.

Thanks again for all the help.. I changed the fuel pump, and put some gas in it. Then it started right up! Just need to get some exhaust, and tires that hold air, and my silvia front coupe will be on the road!
