and $400 is still too much no matter how you slice it. but good luck and keep us informed how that t25 works.
As am I, but I won't complain.

I know it's a bit of money, but also take into the consideration it's 20 ****ing degrees here with snow all over the place....just rather have them do it.

And no I don't have a garage where I can have a car sitting in pieces either - it's needed for other cars to stay out of this **** weather.

as i understand it with xs power their stuff in general is hit or miss... but i was just offering them as an example... you can get other good turbo's for cheap also.

you have their manifold, and that's holding up right? i mean for a budget setup their stuff does the job, but of course i was only reccommending it as a budget alternative to rebuilding a t25... i have one of their turbos and it works great. it's a budget setup.

i'm curious though. not that i am saying you're full of crap, i would believe that xs power stuff is crap, but i am just curious, who exactly have you heard all the bad news about xs power from? i know there are a couple of people on this board that have their products and have good results for what their setup is... low end.i don't know of anyone that has complained about them... i've heard all kinds of horror stories but i really honestly could not name a single person that had bad results. if you could enlighten me i would appreciate it... i guess i'm gonna have to search also...

anyway what y ou're saying makes perfect sense and all but i mean just because it's a dealership don't expect a really quick turnaround time. i still say you could do better on your own, and as soon as you get the turbo you can install real quick. you won't need a garage for the car to sit in... it'll be a day job at most, and that is considering you having no prior experience whatsoever... and you already said you had a little. anyway good luck again. i understand 20 degree weather sucks to work in.

There it is - turbo literally just split in half - as someone says - it looks like the ****er was just super-glued together.

I don't care if that was a 1 in a million thing that happened, from seeing it - i will never purchase a XS Turbo

Also there are "ZY Turbos" that are complete ****ing garbage floating around - they look like "garrett" but they aren't (as they say ZY on them) and they are just pure junk.

hahahahahaha. thanks for the link. that's pretty funny.

agreed...

yeah i purchased this as budget temporary stuff you know? i'm not heavily modifying the engine right now so i figured the low end cheapo stuff would be good for a while until i decide to get an sr, or build this engine or do something more radical.

i guess we'll see if my turbo breaks in half or something. if it does then i guess i'll be getting a better setup sooner than i anticipated. thanks for the info. good luck again. i guess i need to retract any defense i have ever offered for them...

no problem - and yeah when I saw that I was like WTF......I suppose there are bad bunches of every group, but when a co. uses an epoxy of some sort to hold their turbos together, that's just low....

good luck with that turbo a good handful of people never have any probs. with them, but I wouldn't take my chances personally after seeing this.

they are advertising the warranty how crap is that.... I know where he is at money wise, personaly at some point you would rather pay someone to do the stuff right the first time who you can yell at for doing wrong if need be. I dont enjoy getting oily and dirty every weekend and im at wits end in doing so. I get very frustrated with car stuff although im not incompetent i just break more than I fix ... bolts etc... **** that is old so hes not totally devoid of logic in his approach.

something like that should only take a day but if it is twenty degrees outside, i wouldnt attempt even that cuz thats just asking for something else to go wrong. if its ur DD, do what u got to do. if its not ur DD, wait out the storm.............
