i installed an alpine cda-9813 a couple of days ago, and i absolutely love it except for one thing. . . the lack of bass coming from the rear speakers. I have alpine type r 6x9's the rear and the weird thing is that if i set the balance all the way to either the left or right side, the bass is MUCH more pronounced than if they are balanced in the middle (pretty much nonexistant and they sound like my type s 6 1/2's i have up front). the 6x9's are have a crossover setting of 80.

I'm 99% sure that everything is wired correctly since i wired my previous headunit (cda-9811) flawlessly. also, when i had the same setup with my 9811, the bass more pronounced than it is now. btw, yes i have a direct fused connectioin the battery just like alpine suggests. any help would be appreciated. thanks

your rear speakers are out of phase, reverse the positive and negative speaker wires on ONE of the rear speakers.

By common thinking you are correct, but the speakers are actually wired opposite Polarity.

Please don't automatically assume that opposite polarity means out of phase. This is not always true. So it's best to use the term polarity instead.

Either way, good work helping him fix the problem.
