It's out and I'm taking the plunge on this puppy.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-v...AW505

But here's the kicker. I saw on here back when I did the first two phases of my system a link to the dash kit that I'm going to need.

I could have sworn I bookmarked it at the time, but it's long gone at this point.

I also tried a search on here, but I got tons of results. No matter how I tried to narrow down the search, I kept getting way too many results.

So my question is, anyone know where I can get the double din kit for my 06 AT coupe so my system can be complete and I can drive in heavenly bliss?

or, ebay

or you can call Infiniti of Riverside (CA) and save yourself a few bucks (they are the ones that import from JDM)

YES, nice buy. I've been looking at that one as well. But I think I might go with a Sony. Let us know how you like it and get some pictures of it installed.

Thanks guys.

One thing I noticed is that my dual climate function would be lost. Is there a way around that? Or is there another kit available that allows you to maintain dual climate? My wife is perpetually cold

You'll have to solder the LED and button from your original to the new one and just transfer the button cover that says Dual. This could be the most difficult part of the whole install. That's all the info I can give you, I don't know anything more specific...not sure if someone has done a write up here on that or not. Google it, you can find it (in evil spaces).

Houston, we have a problem.

I called Infiniti of Riverside. They don't have any.

The guy at Grubbs, who was incredibly helpful and friendly btw, said they ordered them three months ago and are still waiting. He said last time this happened, it was six, count 'em, six, months before they got more. They currently have 1,000 on order.

My last resort is the ebay one. How trustworthy is that guy, Willey?

Dude that sucks. I've been waiting for this thread to pop up to see how you like it and I see that you've ran into problems. Any updates?

It's actually supposed to be finished today (fingers crossed).

Because nobody on the face of the Earth seemed to have the dash kit, I went ahead and ordered the climate control module (only) from Grubbs last week. The bezel that covers the stereo and climate control will unfortunately have to wait. It was either that, or I waited until someone got the entire kit in stock again. And, well, I'm not that patient.

So I dropped my car off yesterday morning at Sound Innovations in Hayward with the promise that it would be done last night. The installer ran into some problem with the dual climate button switchover and the install has carried over into today.

So now I'm hoping it does indeed get done tonight.

I'll post up the picks once I have my baby back in my possession again.

Just keep in mind that the dash cover (bezel) whatever you want to call it will be absent. But I can live with that as long as I've got my tunes.

All I can say is this is the best money I have spent in a long time. This deck is awesome.

I can fill you in with all the details if you care, but for now, here are the pics.

Here's an overview of the dash:

Here's a close-up of my center stack with the I-Pod playing:

And here's another close-up with Ice Age playing:

Now I just need to find someone who has the finish piece, or bezel, in stock and my system will finally be complete.

Looks awesome. This almost makes my decision on whether to add a 300 dollar IPOD dock to the existing, or go all out. I think it looks great, looks stock in my opinion. Can't wait to see finished product in the light hopefully. I have 2 JL Audio Subs in my old car and I kinda want to cut a GIANT hole in the middle part of the back seat and mount it there. But I don't have the balls to do it maybe someday. Plus I need to work on making more engine noises first. Keep us posted on the finished product.

Does it sit flush or do you not know yet?

Kinda hard to say. I had a hole/gap all around the climate control unit and stereo, all the way down to the ash tray. That's why I took the pictures at night

But over the weekend, I made my own bezel with wood, spray painted it, and held it in place with velcro. I know, I know, it sounds hoopty. But it actually doesn't look too bad for a temporary fix.

I'll post some daylight pictures when I get the chance.

Well, the best I can answer that question is to say that it does sit flush with the wood bezel I made. I checked with Grubbs the other day and he told me it may be 6-8 more months before they get them in stock again.

So for now, I'm stuck with what I've got.

I finally got around the getting pictures in the daylight:
