Hey all,

I am putting together parts for a new install in my second car (not a Nissan but I do own a Hybrid Altima) and need a little advice. Anyone here familiar with Alpine to maybe tell me if the IVA-W505 will work with a H701 processor? I plan on getting a 6 disk changer also and was wondering if that would all link up correctly.

My plan is to transplant my Kenwood DNX8120 from my Altima to my other car and use a Alpine W505 with a H701 process to get true active setup for my Dynaudio Esotar 110. Any help would be welcome and thanks in advance.

The W505 is a replacement for the W205. As far as I know, there are no differences between the two when it comes to controlling the H701. I currently run the W205/H701 combo (previously had the H701 with an IVA-D105 which worked) and the controls are seamless. If there are any control options you'd like to see pictures of, let me know and I can try to snap some with my camera to show you the ease at which you can control this system.

I'm not sure if you have the H701 processor yet, but it is becoming difficult to find. It was discontinued a short while back. Now, Alpine is offering an Imprint processor which does not have as much control as the 701. The H701 really is a powerhouse, and with the integration to an Alpine headunit it is almost unbeatable (IMO of course). Let me know if you have any more questions.

I, too, would eventually like to run Esotar2 110's as my tweets with my setup, but it certainly isn't in the budget at this point.

AppleBonker,

I will take you up on the offer. Can you snap some pictures of the control screens like the eq settings and the crossover settings. I just purchase a H701 from a friend of mine who purchased one a couple of years ago but never installed it. It is essentially brand new.

Thanks,Chan

AppleBonker,

Take your time man. Not in a real rush. Should get my PXA-H701 this week but have not decided on the head unit yet. I have read bad reports of the bluetooth and nav software from Alpine so I guest I will be using a portable nav unit for the altima and installing a Parrot unit for Bluetooth also.

Thanks,

Chan

Hey, I know this is off topic and i'm sorry, but i'm thinking about buying a Nakamichi head unit from a guy and just want to hear peoples opinions on the company. My email is [email protected] if anyone wants to tell me about them, thanks/sorry.
