You will have to ground the black wire on the Alpine harness to a good ground then. Should take care of it!

You can always feel free to call me. If I don't answer just leave a message with a name and number and I will usually get back to you within minutes!

Call me tonight if you need assistance!

I'm not ready to buy another CD player right now, but I do have a question for you. Both the ones I have now (Sony and Aiwa, el cheapos that came with my cars) light up bright blue and it kills my eyes. Do the Alpines or any of the other ones you know of light up red or some variant of it?

All of the Alpines, except for the 9870, have dimmer input. So when you turn on your parking lights or headlights it will dim all of the buttons and display on the radio. Very nice for night time driving!

Good stuff. What color are they? I'm partially color blind, and for some reason it messes with the way that some colors of light show up at night for me.

The 6 main buttons to the right of the volume light up blue, the rest light up red. The display is a plain white.

If you buy the Alpine XDA-001, the I-Pod radio, it lights up all blue or all red...... your choice.

Sounds like something to take note of. I know that years ago, Kenwood had a CD player that changed colors. My uncle has one and I must say that has to be one of the coolest looking ones I've seen in a while. Is anyone making something like that these days that's worth having?

Not really anything that I stock. I'm sure they are out there though. I also have Kenwood Excelons that all of the buttons illuminate red, and the display is white.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep you in mind when I finally finish with getting my cars running and am ready to install a good stereo.

Hey I've been looking at (ghasp) bazooka amplified bass tubes for the compactness and ease of taking out on track days... do you by chance have access to these?

My email's [email protected] if you don't want to respond in here.

Thanks.

I use to be a Bazooka dealer about 13 years ago. I'm sure I can get it, I just wouldn't be able to give you stellar pricing.

Well, here is another one to throw at you...... I received the old CD player yesterday and it works perfectly fine! I installed it in a dealer car and all is good. I think your car is haunted!

Hey Toby, is there a remote wire like the one for the iPods that will work for the Zune? I just bought a Q45 for a DD and I want to connect my Zune to the stock Bose deck.

Not that I have ever seen. The only thing you could do is a AUX input, but I don't even know if that's an aftermarket option for that car. What year is it?
