alpine amp help

okay, alot of ppl are telling me different things about powering my subs, so i decided to ask some fellow nissan owners. When I bought my s14 it was equipped with 2x 10" Alpine Type R subs being powered by Alpine MRD-M500. Is my system properly powered or do I need another amp?

Hard to say, but I'll make a few assumptions.

Figuring ther subs are wired to gcreate a 4 ohm load (either series or parallel) and the amp is bridged on that 4 ohm load, thus "seeing" a 2 ohm load, they should be getting plenty of power.

A couple things that could have an impact ...Is there a cross-over? If so, what/where is it?Do you know if the box is anywhere close to meeting the subs needs (size/tuning - port)?
