Alot of heat coming from shift boot

When I drive with my windows down like on the parkway my shift knob gets really hott after a 20 minute drive and alot of heat coming from the shift boot...but the weird part is when i have my windows up theres no heat coming out of it at all and the shift knob isnt hot...does nebody know whats gonig on here?

i notice heat from my shifter area but nothing to severe. I just think its air blowing by the engine and transmission.

thats what i kinda figured,it never happened this bad before, maybe its just all the heat cause summer is starting

i have notice the same thing except i get it from the whole middle part thats around the shifter, like from the floor too in the middle

yeah, it's cause the transmission is right at our asses, and our thighs literally. All 240s will have this, warm feeling

do you have both of the boots installed? you should have the leather one,and a thick rubber one underneath.mine doesn't get noticeably hot.

Yeah I have both boots installed but it still gets pretty hot..My shift knob gets the hottest.

mine is warm, but the shift knob (aluminum) stays pretty cool to the touch.

btw, any chance this is the dude i met w/ the white s14 at the hess on rt 9? i was in a primered s13...
