On the recently past saturday morning my engine shut off on me twice during a turn going to my friend's house, i can't come up wif a conclusion of why it is doing that so i was like **** it because we have to get to work. After work when i was going bak home i notice that when i HOLD my clutch during 3rd or 4th gear my rpm drops lower than idle speed (holding as in just press and hold without changing gears or ne thing.) So i was testing it to see if that is how my engine was shutting off on me in the morning. While doing that on the freakin highway doing like 50mph-(it was raining and the road was wet )it actually did shut off on me again cause my rpm drops down to 400 and shut off. During that morning i was thinking about it and was scared that it mite happen to me on the highway(which it did) so i asked my friend in advance how to kick start or push start a car, i did what he told me. I putted in 2nd gear and pop my clutch, the torque was so great that my rear end spin out did a almost 180 degree turn , landed from the middle lane to the right lane and almost hitting the wall, now that i'm facing the other way of the high way-i can't get bak to the flow of the traffic. Luckly no car hit me and a garbage truck saw me, helped me block off 2 lane and let me get bak on the correct way of the highway. That night i called my friend and told him what happened and he told me that i wasn't suppose to be on 2nd gear to push start it casue i'm already going like 50mph, i'm suppose to put it on 4th or something.I have a 1 vacuum leak and recently i've just put in my air cone filter so i left the hose from the lil box(i think ppl call it the resenator box?) hanging-that makes 2 vacuum leak, i think those vacuum leaks are making my rpm dropping so low. Would that be the cause???

If the vaccum leak is after the MAFS then that would be why your idle dropping out and dying. Since the air is entering after the MAFS the computer doesn't compensate for it so you run lean and your engine stalls

just so you know...when you're on the high way..and you don't want to crank it...do us a favor and use 4th gear instead of second-

I had the same problem noone looks at this prob its your IAA going out which is hooked to the IAC and AIC or something like that.Try and clean it out it helps but if that doesnt work youll have to replace it...theres a fact on 240.org bout the IAA valve check it out.

It's the same effect as if you dropped it into second gear going down the high way...the truth is if you're going fast enough..you can start the car back up in any gear(use to have a problem with my car stalling)...just never turn the key off no matter what..power brakes and power steering are important..lol
