Would you suggest any other for 09 M35x?IlyaKol wrote:I'd go with BC over Megan. Slightly higher quality.
In my experience, on the AWD cars, it's almost the same price to lower or replace with new stock parts because the front struts (or is it back?) can only be purchased from the dealer and they are expensive. For the RWD guys, you can get KYB shocks all around for like $400 and call it a day but I remember for my 07 M35x I was looking at like $750 in parts to rebuild the suspension with OEM stuff and I decided to just spend $900 and get BC coilovers.Larz wrote:I'm wondering why you don't just replace with OEM suspension? It's funny you mentioned that. My front struts are trashed, rightfully so after 205,000 miles. I googled KYB replacements for the front, and can get both of them for cheaper than my cost is on 1 Infiniti strut. I didn't even notice if it was AWD specific though, I have no idea what or why there would be a difference, as the steering knuckle is the same, just has a dust cap in the hole on RWD cars where the front axles would normally go through. I wonder if it has something to do with the additional weight of a front differential. I'll have to look into it.IlyaKol wrote:In my experience, on the AWD cars, it's almost the same price to lower or replace with new stock parts because the front struts (or is it back?) can only be purchased from the dealer and they are expensive. I'm looking to lower and just ready to replace them for a smoother ride these NYC streets have been putting a hurting on the car.Larz wrote:I'm wondering why you don't just replace with OEM suspension? Are you also looking to lower your car?
Hey mexillis are they available for AWD? Do you have a link to them? Thanksmexillis wrote:if you get coilovers go with d2 or ksport, only true coilover set ups avail and easier to set the height.
Haha, I think your dollar is now worth more than ours. As someone previously mentioned, even as an Infiniti employee, my cost on AWD front struts and using aftermarket KYB's in the rear are almost as expensive as using coilovers. Can anyone with the coilovers chime in on how they ride compared to factory stuff?Markc wrote:It's funny you mentioned that. My front struts are trashed, rightfully so after 205,000 miles. I just replaced my front shocks on 08 x. The fronts are only available from the dealer. It cost me $480 Canadian. That works out to about 20 bucks American, (just kidding). This is for the front shocks only. Installed them myself. Rear shocks are available from KYB for the X. Although I only had a blown left front, I decided to replace both as a pair. Big difference in ride quality/firmness. I think I will also replace the rears as they are not expensive, (less than $200 a pair for KYB vs. over $500 for oem), and a heck of a lot easier to replace.
I had my BC Racing coilovers on the softest settings and they rode much like stock, maybe a tad sportier. Not uncomfortable at all and I'd go coilover again in a heartbeat.BlackCat81 wrote:Haha, I think your dollar is now worth more than ours. RAVSPEC installed my MXP SP Exhaust. +1 for RAVSPEC.mexillis wrote:hit up RAVSPEC in NY they probably have deals with installation and are good at what they do.
How many miles you used them for and how much with shipping to zip 10002pharaohEG08 wrote:I have used D2's for sale for $600 + shipping. Like others have said, they are true coilovers and I have nothing but good things to say about them. This way you can save some money, especially if you are paying someone for the install.
You can't find all wheel drive front struts aftermarket.graffigna wrote:I have a 2008 Infiniti M35X (AWD) with 110,000 miles, and it needs new front struts, rear shocks, and the associated mounting hardware. I am struggling to find OE replacements for the front.
Can anyone tell me where to purchase OE front struts for my car?
Thank you. John
No. I've checked with several of the bigger online parts retailers and they do not carry 2008 M35x front struts. It's a weird phenomenon.BlackCat81 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2016 5:21 pmYou can't find all wheel drive front struts aftermarket.graffigna wrote:I have a 2008 Infiniti M35X (AWD) with 110,000 miles, and it needs new front struts, rear shocks, and the associated mounting hardware.
