I'd go with BC over Megan. Slightly higher quality.

We don't have many options...the other option that some people pick are D2's.

BC or D2's > Megan.

I'm wondering why you don't just replace with OEM suspension? Are you also looking to lower your car?

If looking to lower it and replace go with D2 racing or Bc racing.

In my experience, on the AWD cars, it's almost the same price to lower or replace with new stock parts because the front struts (or is it back?) can only be purchased from the dealer and they are expensive. For the RWD guys, you can get KYB shocks all around for like $400 and call it a day but I remember for my 07 M35x I was looking at like $750 in parts to rebuild the suspension with OEM stuff and I decided to just spend $900 and get BC coilovers.

It's funny you mentioned that. My front struts are trashed, rightfully so after 205,000 miles. I googled KYB replacements for the front, and can get both of them for cheaper than my cost is on 1 Infiniti strut. I didn't even notice if it was AWD specific though, I have no idea what or why there would be a difference, as the steering knuckle is the same, just has a dust cap in the hole on RWD cars where the front axles would normally go through. I wonder if it has something to do with the additional weight of a front differential. I'll have to look into it.

Struts for these cars are not weight dependant. Now, if it includes the spring, then that is a different story. This would matter for M45 vs M35 models. Obviously the V8 will weigh more than the V6 engine. Other than that, I just can't see the weight of the AWD system making that much more of a weight difference, but there are several extra components which would include a transfer case, front propeller shaft, front diff and two front CV axles. I would guess about 150-175 additional pounds of metal. I am not certain if the strut construction is different for the AWD M or not.

Also, don't forget to budget in new upper strut mounts and new spring isolators for the new struts. I'm not sure if the lowering struts come with them or not, but don't neglect these items.

I just replaced my front shocks on 08 x. The fronts are only available from the dealer. It cost me $480 Canadian. That works out to about 20 bucks American, (just kidding). This is for the front shocks only. Installed them myself. Rear shocks are available from KYB for the X. Although I only had a blown left front, I decided to replace both as a pair. Big difference in ride quality/firmness. I think I will also replace the rears as they are not expensive, (less than $200 a pair for KYB vs. over $500 for oem), and a heck of a lot easier to replace.

I just ordered a pair of KYB Exel G rear shocks for $44 Canadian each. OEM rears are $271 Can a piece. Sale @ Autopartsway. Regular is over a hundred.

if you get coilovers go with d2 or ksport, only true coilover set ups avail and easier to set the height.

Haha, I think your dollar is now worth more than ours. As someone previously mentioned, even as an Infiniti employee, my cost on AWD front struts and using aftermarket KYB's in the rear are almost as expensive as using coilovers. Can anyone with the coilovers chime in on how they ride compared to factory stuff?

I had my BC Racing coilovers on the softest settings and they rode much like stock, maybe a tad sportier. Not uncomfortable at all and I'd go coilover again in a heartbeat.

RAVSPEC installed my MXP SP Exhaust. +1 for RAVSPEC.

I have used D2's for sale for $600 + shipping. Like others have said, they are true coilovers and I have nothing but good things to say about them. This way you can save some money, especially if you are paying someone for the install.

Right around 10k. They are off the car, cleaned, greased and back in their original D2 box.

As far as shipping, idk I'd have to check but I think it's like 40-50$. I would guess it's similar to the amount of shipping you pay for new

Sounds like a fair deal. You'll pay about the same for O.E.M fronts and KYB rears. 10K is just broken in.

Speaking of front suspension, anyone know where to get aftermarket cv axle for m35x? How about a shop in the Northeast that rebuilds them? I need a front passenger side wheel axle...the boot is ripped, and I have already refilled the grease once.

Would I be needing any other accessories to keep my alignment in specs?

You would need an alignment lol, just to straighten everything out and keep your tires lasting longer. I just purchased the NTB 1 yr alignment package and got an alignment every 4 months.

Unless you want some out of the ordinary camber then you don't need to get camber arms etc.

I have a 2008 Infiniti M35X (AWD) with 110,000 miles, and it needs new front struts, rear shocks, and the associated mounting hardware. I am struggling to find OE replacements for the front.

Can anyone tell me where to purchase OE front struts for my car?

Thank you. John

I couldn't find any alternative to the OE front struts for our cars and you can only buy them from Infiniti.

I've been finding the best prices for Infiniti OEM parts to be parts.com. I've now been using them for about 6 months and have placed 5 different orders with them. They arrive within three to four days of placing my order, or they let you know if they are delayed, and how long they will be delayed. The cool thing about them is they also sell Lexus parts and I can place orders for either my car or my wife's car with them. They also have the lowest Lexus part prices that I've found.

You can't find all wheel drive front struts aftermarket.

No. I've checked with several of the bigger online parts retailers and they do not carry 2008 M35x front struts. It's a weird phenomenon.
