My engine just hit 187K today, and at 200K I am going to rebuild it at that time, the reason I ask so early is that it'll probably take me from now until December (when I'll almost surely hit 200K) to save up and I want to buy the right parts before doing this. Since I have had a crazy desire to build a high compression motor, I want to know if I could just buy the KA24E rebuild kit and have a mechanic put it in as I don't have anything over basic hand tools to do the swap myself. So here's the question. If I bought the rebuild kit (Pistons, rods, rings, gaskets) for a 1990 240SX (the one that'll yeild 10.5:1 Compression on my DE) will everything just straight up fit, bolt in and work, or will I need extra pieces.

First off, I doubt you'll need new rods. Bearings, yes, but the actual rods should be fine. Secondly, the E pistons (of which there are 2 kinds: 9.1 and 8.6) will yield too high a CR than you'll want/need for s street car, unless you love buying 100 octane. They'll need to be ground down to whatever CR you desire. Check the KA specific forum and do a search for more detailed info.

Build it HC :). We are doing it but only on a fun car... but never thought of having to use that crazy fuel.

Ok, but everything will work, and having the Machine Shop ground the pistons to 10.5 to 1 so that I can just buy premium would be my course of action, thanks a bunch for the help, I appreciated it.
