okayyy so my car is almost up to spec :] except now i have a transmission problem :/ maybe some of you can point me in the right direction:

sometimes, when i put the car into 1st still with the clutch down, i hear a LOUD noise, as im letting off the clutch and giving it some gas. its not necissarily a "grinding" noise but it is a disturbing/uncomfortable one. my research found that it could be a TOB or pilot bearing but nobody seemed to have experienced the same noise as i have. i would youtube it but this only happens once in a while...(ive probly driven it for 6 different days and it has happened at least once for 3 out of the 6 days)

and thenn with my car off, when i push the clutch down slowly ill hear a slight feint "squishing" sound. i have bled the clutch already and the fluids are nice and clear. the master cylinder and slave look brand new. anybody have an idea or can tell me where else to check?

aand while driving and changing gears, my clutch only comes up about 90% of the way. i have to pull it up with my foot the other 10%. is that how its supposed to be? it makes me feel uncomfortable cuz i dont want it to be as if im "riding the clutch" if i dont manually pull it up.

OH one more thing, im having a hard time going from 1st to 2nd. while i change gears i SOMETIMES also hear a weird "rrrrrrrr" sound. (that might not be the exact noise tho lol) could that be the flywheel? this happens when i go from 2nd to 3rd too but 4th and 5th gear is fine :] i have already changed the fluids with redline shockproof heavy (previous color looked like green vomit) and according to the previous owner, there is a new clutch inside. any suggestions?

keep in mind that the car has been sitting for almost 2 years :/ (last maintenance and last time parts were installed). could/do any of these components deteriate over time withought being driven? like does the clutch disintegrate over time just sitting in fluid? lol (i dont even know if it sits in fluid so dont flame)

so if anyone could give me ideas or suggestions or things to check that i may have overlooked, let me knoww! IM ALMOST THERE, NICO! DONT FAIL ME NOW!! :]

*oh yeah, it has been 5 speed converted if that makes a difference. so with that being said, maybe the whole clutch pedal might not be bolted on good? causing the 90%/10% problem? ill check tomorrow but just thought id add...

Haha no the clutch does not sit in fluid. The internal gearing of the transmission sits in fluid. Its hard to just tell you "this is your problem" over the net but here some things you could check.

What type of clutch did the previous owner put in?Did he/she do it or have a mechanic do it? <-- maybe a faulty install if done by selfThe fluid noise can just be an airbubble in the system. There is a clutch (slave?) line bypass DIY on here. Search

The having to pull your clutch up by foot makes me think even more that there is a bubble in your lines. Make sure your fluids are topped off. And rebleed your clutch.

Kinda hard to ttell you what the noise is on your 'shifting'. Could be the clutch not fully disengaging and grinding. Other than that, make sure you depress the clutch all the way down when shifting. Hope this helps. I'm tired. Hope someone can help out more!!

ohh haha thanks for telling me :]

umm idk what kind of clutch (brand) but i think i remember him saying oem.and idk who put it in but he did say the motor was rebuilt by his friends dad(mechanic) so im assuming this "mechanic" put in the clutch too. id ask more about this "mechanic" but he died...

hmm i guess ill try rebleed it again, and visually check again.

anybody else can shed some light for me??

ok this is kinda what it sounds like except it doesnt happen ALL the time, like his lol. i read one of the comments and it said maybe its not broken in yet. the previous owner said there was a new clutch installed so maybe i still need to break it in? how long does it take to break in a new clutch? my odo doesnt work btw if anyone got info on that :]

i may know what that "squishing" sound is. Does it sound like its comin from the inside of the car? if it is then its the....the...S**T! i cant think of the name of it right now. its the pivot point of the pedal "squishing" my conquest did it all the time. so did my honda. that pivot point gets worn out quicker then the other pedals cuz its used more often the others. but thats only if it sounds like its comin from the inside of the car. if its sounds like its comin through the firewall then its most likely your master cylinder..........just tryin to help. dont hate me. its just my experience......i just heard the video and..well...i have nooo clue....ive heard that sound before but its was all the time because a guy FINGER TIGHTENED all the flywheel bolts then proceeded to put everything back together and didnt tell the owner.....

hmm but ive driven my friends 89 240 and his clutch doesnt do that.

im thinking it has to be the slave or the master...

but about that sound, doesnt it sound pretty bad? is that from improper breakage of a clutch??
