alright, whenever i do normal driving in my s13 and i start off from a stop, or right after i shift, i get what seems to feel like throttle lag. it doesnt do it all the time but when it does, its noticeable. it does it mostly when i shift below 3k. ive done alotta matinance on it(maf, water pump, belts, full tune-up, batt, etc). it doesnt seem to do it whenver i get on it too. but it usually lasts about 1 full second, then surges forward. im gonna clean up my maf, but past that im stumped.... thanks for your help!

Could it be your driving style? If you dump the clutch with sticky tires you'll get bogged down low in the RPMs. Nature of the beast, unforunately. Work on feathering the clutch, if you can. Once you get the wheels rolling, they'll provide a LOT less friction against the transmission and crank.

Does it do it when you first start the car? I know I had sorta the same problem on my first 240. I went through 6 mechanics and took me 2 years but I found out it was the spark plug wires. When the motor was cold it was fine, but after it warmed up I couldn't give it much gas without it sort of sputtering. Also, it could be your TPS. There's a write-up in the KA24DE Article section of the forums on the testing procedure.

it happens alot more when its cold, but still does it here and there when its warmed up. my wires/plugs are only couple months old. when i go from a start it sputters and lags until like 1500-2(when it happens, that is). i dont think my tps has ever been touched, so ill look into that. thanks

You could also be feeling the throttle tip-in timing retard of the stock ECU.

im going through the same thing. its probably your crank angle sensor. you have power surges from like 1000rpm to 4000rpm right? and sometimes your idle stumbles? check your ecu for codes. cas = code 11. you need a new distributer if that is the problem.
