allignment/susp. prob........HELP!!!!!

please help i hit a curb tonight dodgeing an suv. now i have to hold the wheel to the left to keep the car straight. i dont hear any knocking and it just sounded like i hit the curb, i didn't hear anytthing snap. is this a suspension or allignment problem. What do i look at i don't know where to start to tell you guys whats wrong. what do i check. please describe what parts look like i dont know what these parts are called. i can fix stuff but i dont know much about cars please help me!

Hello,

If you have to hold your wheel a little off center, then it might just need a quick alignment (like my car currently does)............if you have to hold it a lot off center, then you might have ruined either your tie rod end or stripped a few threads on the tie rod. That sounds pretty extreme though but it's always best to go with the worst case scenario as you'll always be pleasantly surprised when it's something less diabolical.

As an aside, I suppose the worst thing that could have happened would be that you actually BENT the lower portion of your front upright.

I went to the allignment place today, the tie rod is bent and the control arm "shifted?"where it mounts to the car(it has to be pulled out by a machine) do i get oem tie rods or aftermaret and which aftermarket will i get the most for my money(not too much)this suxx, i hate suv's

projectsilvia.com has a good set of tie rods, they are alot stronger than oems
