Going to build my KA and need your knowledge.Goal is 350rwhp with the chance down the road of an boost itch.Getting crower/pauter rods and some 8.5 pistons.New timing chain kit.Keeping stock cams.Should I get new valvetrain components?Where do I need to get an oil pump? Also I should get a new water pump to be safe correct?

What do I need to mechanic to replace?Freeze plugs? Read the other day about switching out bolts on the crank..What little things are needed to be done to the ka24de enigne?Thanx. I've found all this info before but now I can't find any of it with the search button...From one thread I searched and found was toga oil pumps.$199...http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/sale/To ... s/pg/4Also read of just shimming the oil pump so it flows more...by use 2-3 washers.

Oil pump: NissanWater pump: sure y not ur there and nissanBolts: ARP head and main STUDS

Make sure u run rod clearances between .002 and .003. Make sure you at least freshen up the head with a valve job of some kind. Clevite bearings. Just go talk to one of your local engine builders.~Sam

Are you talking about the plugs on the crank. I think the machine shop can either drill out the stock plugs then use allen bolts as replacements(much easier to work with ) or remove and use new plugs. Im not sure if thats what you are talking about tho?

a rebuild with nothing but forged pistons added would support way more than 350hp and it would probally be reliable. stock valvetrain/cams is just fine.

For the oil pump. I know of 2 places that can get the turbo one (off the 280z):

http://www.hybridka.com

and

http://www.frsport.com

I got mine from the frsport guys, talked to aim name frsportdung in particular - it's not on their site yet since I'm the first customer to ask for that weird turbo oil pump part, I just got it through aim - the oil pump is from japan... if that makes any difference to you, HAHA. They also carry some nismo oil pump gears that work w/ the stock ka oil pump to make it high pressure or something - they just told me about that but I didn't get it since I figured my 280z one would hold up fine. I'll be putting mine in this turkey weekend as part of my "sohc build".

make sure that you get your timing chain components from the dealership..ive had to rebuild two motors due to bad aftermarket tensioners.. and where there is the spring that add pressure to the tensioner add like 2 or 3 small washers so you ahve a little more pressure on it..
