I am planning on going with a custom made 3" exhaust basically from the header in preperation for my rb25. My question is what mufflers you guys chose, how you like the sound, and the quality. Also, did you guys get a resonator and what kind. I dont want a ricey sounding car at all, and theres no way for me to hear all the different mufflers. Im looking for one that will have a nice deep tone and wont be obnoxiously loud. Thanks for the help guys.

BORLA 3" in 3" out? Run two! I love that borla sound. Super quiet till you get on "it". expensive kinda. but you know what, probably any and all mufflers would sound good with an RB whistling through them!!!

muffler? who needs a muffler? nothin but catalytic converter to pipe that dumps out the rocker panel for me, sounds really deep and throaty, but then again, its also really loud when your on it.

Prety much anything your going get that is ment for a trubo car is going to sound ricey if you don't have a cat or resignator... until you get a turbo engine... so you might want to get what you want now and deal with it till you get your RB...

Or just wait till you put the motor in to install your exhaust, it will most likely decrease performance if you install it now.

well I was definately goin to put a resonator on it, but how would it hurt performance with my rb and should I change it to complete straight when I get it. Im goin to get the 3" deal pretty soon no matter what, I just dont wanna buy 2 dif. exhausts and I need one now. Ive always liked the sound borla makes, which one do you think would be my best option here for a 3" intake and ??? exit. Also are there any recomendations for what resonator I should get and whatnot?? Thanks for all the help guys.

Dude... try this...

Why not get a regular catback system which fits on the ka...sr...and rb series motors (a'pexi n1..not sure about others). At the moment im waiting to pick up my s14 rb25 from the shop. Most shops can just make a catless dp for you for the same price as buying any brand dp for under $200 bux and without the rice!

It'll be a better investment than to get custom exhaust piping all the way through.

muffler-(brand name)-$200custom catback piping-$200custom dp-$200

its about the same price as getting a cat back with a resonator.
