I have a base model 06 M45 with no DVD, no Nav, but with the CAT-RPT button under the #3 button. I have read somewhat extensively on what my options are in integrating audio inputs:
1. post6530426.html?hilit=usb%20m45&sid=0a ... 6#p6530426
2. usa-spec-pa15-nis-ipod-adapter-review-t ... hilit=pa15
3. post6663395.html?hilit=usb%20m45&sid=0a ... 6#p6663395
4. post6324146.html#p6324146

My intention is to be able to play music from either a USB input and/or AUX from my phone. The GROM unit with USB capabilities does not get very good reviews from our members. The highly praised PA15-NIS does not have USB input but has an iPod + AUX input deal. I do not own any apple products and have no intention of buying an iPhone or iPod just for this purpose. However, I'm not too excited to pay over 100 bucks just for an aux cable, especially since I can't control the music selection through AUX.

Back in my Maxima days, there was a way to solder an AUX or USB input to the cassette player, but we don't have cassette players. So, tech people: is it possible to hook up an AUX cable without giving an arm and a leg?

The mediabridge has aux, USB and Bluetooth. It works very well.

I'm sure i've seen a post where someone solders an aux wire onto the circuit board. I will post a link if i find it.

I'm listening. I spent some time on the audiovox site and other places online and the different part numbers had my head spinning a little. I'll call the company today to figure out what they recommend, but what setup are you running?

Thank you both for your contribution.

I'm using the Audiovox AMBR-1502-NIS. Bought it on Amazon for $150.
Look on here http://static.voxxintl.com/docs/common/ ... AG_OEI.pdf it shows the above model number for our cars.

Thanks again adrdsouza. It seems like that is exactly what I'm looking for in a kit. I know it's optimized for iGadgets and Siri and whatnot, but at least I can insert my android phone as a mass storage/ USB device and also use the AUX. It will work.

I just need to decide if I really want to (as well as how to) wire my sub and amp while I'm in there. It also seems like what you paid is what the current price is leveling at. But heck, that's only slightly more than what I would traditionally pay for an aftermarket head unit.

You're welcome Edboy, happy to help!

I completed my full audio upgrade yesterday. My setup is as follows:

1. JL Cleansweep connected after the Bose amp in the trunk. Wires that go out to the front and rear speakers feed into the Cleansweep.
2. Front and rear RCAs from the Cleansweep go to a 4 channel amp running IDQ65CS components in the front and Kenwood speakers in the rear doors. The shop i went to cut out the original speakers and used their brackets so that the speakers are closest to the doors. I didn't take a pic but could do it sometime in the future.
3. RCA from 4 channel amp to a mono amp running a IDQ12 sub in a custom box i had built. I wanted it to fit in the right corner but it turned out a bit bigger.

The cleansweep flattens the output from the bose amp to cancel any factory curves applied at the Bose. There's a video on youtube where a guy from JL demonstrates exactly how it works. I still want to add an EQ between the Cleansweep and the amp because i need a little more mid bass at my comps. I will get the Boss EQ600 if i manage to find it.

I will post pictures over the weekend on my thread 2007-m45-audio-upgrade-t603084.html

I took a gander at your thread. You've got some serious work going on in your audio department.

I was a little disappointed to see how seriously Infiniti took the "base" in this base model. The thing doesn't even have a subwoofer, just door speakers and tweeters. I haven't studied the audio section in the manual yet, but I have a feeling it's not going to be a walk in the park.
I have to actually go into the trunk to see what I have for an amp, create a plan, then I'll reach out to you knowledgeable peeps.

Oh, and when you post pics of your upgrade, might you have before and after video or audio?

If i'm not mistaken the base model comes with a 8 channel system which has woofers in 4 doors, tweeters on the insides of the side mirrors, center speaker above the screen and a sub in the rear parcel shelf. If it's a Bose system it should say Bose on the center speaker or at least that's how it was on mine :D
The amp in the trunk is on the top left. Sorry but i don't have a before video. Can certainly do an after video!

Sadly, no BOSE here :frown: . The ultimate base level is a 6 speaker system, all fed directly from the audio/ head unit. Speakers in each of the doors and the 2 tweeers with no amplifier involvement.

Maybe I shouldn't feel so bad, as aftermarket speaker and sub integration could end up being as simple as rerouting the speaker outputs to an aftermarket amp and then to speakers of choice.

Thanks for the tip AD, I got my mediabridge kit from a Crutchfield associated website for a little under $90.
Arrived yesterday and installation completed today. Glad to have the USB and Aux options. I do have Bluetooth as well, but the sound quality is nothing to write home about.
*Audiovox claims that 06 M45s are not supported, but well, here we are
