I'm interested. Having looked at them in person do they look well built? Would you feel safe installing them? Are these new or used? Finally, let me know the price you want with shipping to Phoenix, AZ 85040. PM me if you want at [email protected] or just post it here.

I think I talked to you about those a while back, I've needed to replace them for a while now. Can't wait any more, need to get it done. I'll have new Tokicos and CC springs going on at the same time.

Anyone else have any thoughts on these tension rods?

What about the tension rod bar that goes in between the toension rods, would this work on either the G50 or Y33? I've had this on my S13 and it doubled the steering response after upgrading to pillowball tension control rods, I'd like to have this on my G50 at least if not my Y33. Can anyone confirm if this will work on either?

I was looking into one of those as well...not sure if it will work. I have to measure the distance between the mounts on my buddies S13. Y33s are wider than S13s, so it may not work.

As far as S13 tension rods go...I can confirm that they work on Y33s...don't know about G50 though.

I passed on them because of the metal to metal bearing with no protections from water or dust.

Wes has some similar, so perhaps he can give a more complete picture.

I had a set on my S13 without the dustboots, worked out fine for 2 years, no squeaking or rusting. How much would you be selling them for exactly with shipping to zipcode 20744? I'm interested and can Paypal you the money. Let me know. Thanks.

It's hard to really know if they'll hold up to the weight/forces a Q would putt hem throug just by looking at them??

I'd let them go for $80 shipped in the lower 48 states.

Sorry Dorimon didn't want to yank them out from under you.

Sorry about that, I mistaked maxnix's last post as his and thought he passed on them. Just let me know, but though I am now thinking twice about using this extra cash for tc rods and putting it towards some hids. Just hold my place until he replies and I'll let you know if I still need them. Thanks.

They came as "extra parts" when I bought the car last year. They look just like th eones in the link you posted. As for payapl information, let me find them, before you pay. I'm almost positive they're in the "big blue box", but I'd hate to have misplaced them and have it delay the shipping after you pay.

They appear to have never been installed, they're just not "packaged".

My sons track meet ran late, so I didn't get out intot he garage last night. I'll Pull them this evening and may even post up some pics so you can see them first.

was taking off the old rods when I noticed my passenger front wheel wobbled quite a bit... after further inspection I see that my ball joint is shot (which means the whole control arm). Found one out of a rear collision 94 Q in Birmingham though I'll see what else I can get out of it.

Don't look to have ever been installed, but they're also not the blue ones, as I had recalled. They seem more "Tein" green, but I do not think they're Tein products.

Click for full size.

They're boxed and ready, if you're still interested.

lasoyafan and Rex, Can you two measure the length of your tension rods so I can make sure the ones Rex has are the same (S13) models? I would really appreciate it. It's probably just the color but they look a little shorter.

I'll have to unpack them .

I agree in the pics they do look different, but I think it's due to mine being fully adjusted "in" and they're a little thicker, thus looking shorter. I'll measure them both fully 'in" and "out".

Update by Thursday.

Adjusted to be as short as possible, they're 14.5 inches. Fully extended they'd be close to 20 inches, but I'd realistically say you could adjust them out to 16.5 to 17 and maintain they're strength.

Hmm, well from an old thread Wes says he measured his OEM one at 14.5" from the end of the rod to the center of the bushing hole. Is your 14.5" from end to end or from end to bushing hole? Not sure if it'd be good to not be able to go any shorter than 14.5".

Please confirm and if it's the end to end that's 14.5" I'll take em since I will be able to adjust from around 14" - 17"ish.

Here's that old threadhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=152534

Sorry for the confusion, but that's end to end, not mount to mount.

I'll email you the paypal info tomorrow, if you're still interested.

You should have gotten an email from my buddy Jason about paypal. It's the same guy I used to pay you for the Aux-In adapter.

I haven't seen it yet as of Saturday afternoon. If it's the same as last time I can look it up in Paypal. You want me to send $80 to Jason's paypal account?

I replaced my rods with Stillen solid adjustables. At $300+, I didn't think they were worth the expense and they didn't even come with the bolts. In retrospect, I could have gone with something off ebay.

The difference was barely noticeable but I guess the adjustability is a good thing.

Adjustability is a very good thing even if you modify oem [silicone filled] for adjustablity.....................as every Q has a side to side CASTER error when they get old and bent.

Watch out as oem made some specials with 0.5 and 1.0 degree caster differences to fix drift................they gave up supplying these back in 1997 so few should still be in use...................only 1/8" and 1/4" difference.

Important to have Caster within 0.5 degrees side to side..........the exact peak amount is less important as long as they are equal.

All true, but my money would have been better spent on a set of adjustable control arms. I still need to get a set. I hear the Stillens slip and lose their settings after a while, not that I would ever buy anything from that over-priced unit again. Any idea on the best brand?
