ALright I might just be an idiot, I've got a stock turbo on my SR and it peaks somewhere in the neighborhood of 21psi, BUT! I feel it's all for nothing because I'm only laying down 240 ponies to the wheels. So I need help. Any suggestions as far as cam set-up, ignition, fuel, anything at all would be greatly appreciated.

the only mods are a front mount, 3" exhaust, turbo timer and boost gauge

Uhhhh... your turbo said "**** this, I'm out" The stock T25 can only go to about 14psi, 21 is like putting 10 lb block of C4 onto an ant to kill it. It sounds like a good idea, but when done you are gonna have a bad time.

its probly not going to be as simple as just getting a new turbo. ur injectors are about at its peak right now as u sit their pushing all that inefficiant air into ur motor, so if u go to a bigger turbo for more power, ur injectors will crap out. and if u put new injectors in there, ur going to need to tune ur ecu for it somehow.

good luck

Ok let me get this straight, your pushing 21lbs of boost on a stock t25, stock injectors and you don't have any kind of fuel/ air management?????Dude your must be a real hurry to buy a whole new motor cuz yours is going the shoot a rod right out of the block. Ok if i were you i would do this.....1 Stop boosting at 21 psi a t25 can only handle 14lbs of boost and not for very long either, sounds to me like you already blew the turbo and i think you should consider yourself lucky cuz you were well on your way to blowing your motor.

2 Buy bigger injectors, and MAF, get a z32 MAF and some 550's that is the industry standard and is good for 300hp.

3 get soemthing to tune your car. Newsflash, you cannot just force air into the motor and expect it to run perfect, you have to "manage" your air/fuel ratios otherwise you get what we call "knock" or detonation outside the combustion chambers. Knock kills motors. And to much air=knock. Go out and buy a SAFC at the very least. The best things are standalone enigine management systems cuz they let your control every aspect of the car. But the SAFC will suffice with letting you control knock. Then with everything installed properly, go to a dyno and have them tune your car. Then crash your car and leave other poor 240's alone.

You didn't say if you have a s13, s14 or s15 sr20det. But even running 21psi on a s15 sr would be pushing it.

I don't understand how these turbos can only hold up to 14psi. I mean I know they were deisgned back in the 90's but on my vw jetta little baby turbo k03 I ran 24 psi on it once. Now I think it's going on me, but it handled it

key word in what u said about u running 24psi is once. i once miss shifted with my stock, just bought and learning how to drive stick, 5th gear to 2nd gear on the freeway. completly let off the clutch and stepped all the way down on the peddle planning on downshifting to 4th to change lanes. and in the end, nothing hapend to the motor. i geuss the morale of the story is, just because something was done once with no reprecussions, doesnt mean it will be safe to do again.

and just out of curiousity, who is dynoing ur car. i cant help it but to question there credibility when u he puts ur car on his dyno and doesnt even bother to tell u how much in danger u are of ruining ur motor. in my experience its fairly normal for the person tuning ur car or just doing a simple dyno to see what u have done with ur car and to give his advice on what would help. so u might want to think twice about that shop when u r looking for someone to tune ur car

Sounds like typical boost surge. You need a dual solenoid bc and a stiffer solenoid, the boost needs to come up hold and hold steady once it hits target...

This will make the turbo work properly
