I just received my 17 inch five spoke gen2Q45T wheels!! Not perfect, a couple of little scratches and curb marks. Not bad for $300 delivered. I was going to go all season for them, but thought, i have the 15 inch ratty BBS clones, could use them in winter with dedicated tires and get summer performance tires for the 17's!! Spoke to Blake (I think) at Tire Rack about it and I am leaning that route. Would appreciate other's experiences going the different routes.

I try to search for this stuff, but my computer at home is an 8 year old clunker on 28.8 dial up, and I can't really dedicate too much time at work searching.

Also, does anybody know of a member's ride of a gen1Q with the later 5 spoke T wheels. I am dying for a pic of what my car will look like. Is there a way to search the member's rides for specific questions?

Thanks again

I have all season and winter setup. I would do what you are thinking of doing If I were to make a change.

I'll leave the strong advice, to the northern brothers.

I would hate to drive all winter long, knowing I had better looking wheels, in the garage.

I say buy another set.

Yea, save the old rims and keep a set of Bizzacks on them. I only have my stock rims and I just get the tires swapped for the season. If you want to be a real burnout, get a couple of floor jacks an impact wrench and a torque wrench in your garage and swap the wheels when you think it's going to snow. If you do decide to stay with all season tires, pick one that’s good in the snow. My Michelin Pilots suck in the snow while the Continentals that came on my wife's BMW 330i did ok on the white stuff.

Since you live where winter is a real season, all season tires do not cut it, especially 17" all season tires.

The best size of snow tire (not all season) is 215/65-15. Get an H rated tire, such as the Michelin Alpin or Pirelli 210 Winter, if you can. They are usually a V carcass with the snow tread pattern. Your only problem will be the front wheel drive cars with all season tires that are in your way.

i use all seasons for all 4 seasons coincidentally. I live in Iowa and drive my 240 all through the winter. I haven't had any MAJOR problems getting anywhere

Just get a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS. Solves ALL problems including snow. They are amazing tires and you will look great all year. Don't confuse them with the much maligned (and rightfully) xgtv4 or h4. The AS are a brand new generation of Pilots. I've put 140k on my Q and these are the best tires I've ever had and they are GREAT in snow and rain.

By the way are you aware there was a recall on those gen 2 wheels? The center hub can crack and separate from thr rest of the wheel causing obvious lack of control. Many posts here regarding it. The recalled parts numbers have been posted also. Infiniti dealer can also tell you if you have the bad ones but they may or may not replace them if they are not on the original car. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
