All season tires? <<<help

I need help picking a high performance all season tire.

I found Yokohama Advans S4's 215/60/16.

I was set with these til i read the reviews, but sometimes the reviews sound like the people are bitter and salty...

those are ok tires... i personally have michelin pilot sport all season and i prefere them out of any all season

Late reply I'm sure, Goodyear Eagle GT grip good in dry, rain and light ice, here in Texas we get all heavy rain and light ice roads.

You need to elaborate on the driving conditions. Some all seasons are closer to dry performance tires while others are closer to severe weather performance.

Hey dldjros69, Look at the tire ratings at Tire Rack.com, I bout 3 set of tires for different cars, the tire ratings have not been wrong with me thus far. I drive fast and these tires in Texas, have not reduced my driving confidence. Just my "2 cents".

I recomend the Falken 912 it'a great all season tire they were rated #1 consumer report tire

It's to early to tell but the Eagle GTs are gripping in the snow we just got. Another reason is the lip protector on the sidewall.

I would recommend Falken ZIEX 912 or FK452's. I've done a lot of canyon running in the past with my 98 Jetta Vr6 Turbo. It might sound stupid, but I've even canyon ran in rain. I've always ran Falken tires on all my cars. They grip great in water, dry and light ice. I've had the 912's on my Jetta for about 3 years and have treated them harsh. They still have about 95%thread on them. They are great tires and the price is always better than Goodyears, BFG's, Mich. and many others. I have a friend who owns a tire company who supplies large businesses. Real honest friend who gives me prices and specs on all tires I'm looking for and he mostly tells me the same thing that the wear out, traction and other specs on Goodyears and Mich's are way bad than Falken or other brands yet they cost a crap load more. Well hope it helps you out. Sorry for my long post, but I just like to go into detail.

I'm not saying anything negative about the tire, but I'm calling BS on your claim. Unless you drive about 30mi/year there's no way you are at 95% tread left in 3 years.

I respect that. It seems to good to be true. They are the same tires I've had for 3 years. I've canyon ran on them so many times I forgot. I've been driving the car daily since May of last year when I took my A/C to SFR and would occationally drive it while having my A/C to prevent it from just sitting in my garage. I drive HARD about 80% of the time. I'd gladly take a picture of them for you if you'd like and a scan of the receipt if I can find it on my files in my office (It's a tax right off for me since I have a business ). Let me know and I'll get on it ASAP.

Makes no difference to me. You may actually have a unique case with your tires, but I really doubt many will have that experience. Ziex 912 are rated to 65,000mi so you do the math and I'm sure it'll be pretty obvious why that claim is hard to believe. 95% left based on the mfg warranted life is 3250 mi of use. Anyway, the correct way to judge tire life is by measuring tread depth, not mileage.

I hear you bro and I wont argue with you. I'm just giving my personal experience with Falken tires since I run them on my 05 Frontier, 98 Jetta, 08 A/C and now 04 Sequoia that I just got off my mother in law since she was going to trade it in for her new Escalade and was going to get raped for. I don't have the tool to measure the tire depth, but I know which one it is. I should get one.
