for me it's quite simple, go with the one you can afford. if you can afford all of them, then go for the most beautiful one, take it with the engine that has the most potential, then slap a turbo on it.

Haha! I like the way you think

I can only really afford the Civic Si, and possibly a used G35 coupe if I get a great deal on a 2005 model + (like around $22K, area code 91011 - anyone wanna help me look )

But the turbo......

I was in that exact same position, G35 used, 350Z used, or civic Si new.... then my friend introduced me to the A/C and I never really looked back imho.

And I love my A/C 3.5, well worth every penny so far. I also got $7000 off the MSRP sooo.... it made it easier for me...

ROFL... I got flamed on thvboard for asking almost the exact same quesion...Mine was the G37,A/C, and SI... Basically man 1 get what you can afford and are willing o pay for... I honestly just didnt wanna shell out 40+K on a G37. But thats me. Personally 2 of my friends have SI. One has a white sedan the other a boosted black coupe. H can run over 8psi with no issues. he was putting down 300whp without tuning or a reflash... kit + install was like 5K... I would have gone with the SI because i wanted to boost it but no since in having the same car as 2 friends... Go with what you can afford...

Having done some tuning myself and toyed around with a turbo on my last car which was naturally aspirated to start with, I would never suggest forcing air into an engine without any engine management. You're going to run lean, have the risk of detonation, and possibly blow a head gasket over time (it doesn't all happen overnight). I don't even like piggy back tuning that much but it's safe for wide open throttle. I've only heard of SI's with their 11:1 c/r running no more than 5psi. Solid car don't give me wrong. Anyways, A/C 3.5 all the way if you can stomach $30k+ with options ect. Otherwise I'd say the civic and be cautious with corner cutting performance setups. You could always build the block and get a great tuner setup with the money you'd save on the civic. I live in a snowy state so my choices are for FWD…. I'm rambling, good luck to you.

What are you looking for in the car? Comfort, performance, fuel economy, etc? Which coupe are you looking at - 2.5 or 3.5? All of these factors make a difference. If they are in the same price range, I would be choosing between the coupe or the G35. Keep in mind, a used car is a used car. On the other hand, it is an Infiniti nonetheless.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT : CIVIC SI has better standard transmission then A/C standard

my buddy bought a brand new 08 si, and he does not no how to drive standard, so i drove it for him the first day he got it. (basically i was the first driver of the car :P, drove it out of the dealer to his house haha) the si has smooth transmission and not bad priced for fully loaded and all those lil things

but no leather, key ignition, 4banger (but light weight and 200hp)

but if i was to choose, id still pick my A/C over a civic anyday, but for the price and transmission, the civic wins. But for engine and looks, altima wins

Alrite, here's another very enticing possibility!

The Z4 - like on this ad:http://www.cars.com/go/search/...=true

Actually, this seems like a better deal - http://www.carsdirect.com/used...202.5

Are there any features/complaints that should immediately discount the Z4 for me? How's the insurance for the 2003/2005 Roadster?

Help, please...

Z4 is underpowered, small, two seaters only, unpractical and I don't like the looks at all

yea if your gonna go Z4 you gata go 3.0SI or M Roadster to get a good amount of power. Hell i had a $580 lease set up on a brand new 3.0SI. Inevitably however i got the A/C. And coming form a BMW background. Thats hard to do. The A/C is an impressive car.

my cousin has a z4 and i agree with the comment about it being underpowered for the price. but if you wanna talk about handling for the price the z4 is right up there with the best. that car corners on rails and needs no suspension mods after is comes off the manufacturing line. your choice on car is pretty much what you're looking for, and if you're asking on a altima coupe forum your going to get a one sided opinion most of the time, even from me cause i love my altima coupe

You're probably not going to get much contructive feedback about the BMW Z4 on a Nissan forum. As for the comparision between a used G35 and an Altima Coupe - this one has been covered several times. Do a search on this forum for the discussion and remember to separate fact from knee-jerk fiction.

If you are spending $22k or more there are many options (including the G) if you go used. Do your research (carfax, maintenance records, etc) to find a gem of your choice in the used car market.

Good Luck.

The insurance is definitely a bit more, but not too bad. I almost picked one up. The only thing to remember with the Z4 is to avoid the first model year. the 2003 had a bunch of problems that were fixed later on.

That being said, I needed a practical car as a DD, and I got a rockin deal on an 07 hybrid with convenience. New off the lot for 22 and I get a 2350 tax credit this year, making it pretty cheap compared to the other options you have listed.

Anyhoos, the coupe is beautiful, but as mentioned previously, get whatever you can afford. Check your budget and see if it's a realistic car for you in your life and your future plans. I'm still going to get a roadster, but since I commute a bit to work, I figured the hybrid was a good balance of fun to drive, looks, and fuel efficiency.

Figure out what you value and pick based off that after you know you're budget. If you are going to use it as your DD, you want to make sure you don't end up with a car that has problems in the rain/weather conditions you might deal with, that doesn't have suspension that's stiffer than you can stand on an everyday basis, etc.

Okay, I was looking at the 128i before this and I realized that it is like 3K more with the options I want!! I said screw that and now it's between a g35 Sedan (2008), 2008/9 Altima Coupe 3.5SE, or maybe 2008 Lexus IS250...What I am saying is...

1st: Altima Coupe (Best Value)2nd: 1 Series (ITS A BIMMER!! AND RWD!)3rd: G35 coupe (The G37 is so much hotter!)
