Ok, so here's the thing, I've got the swap like 99% completed. This is a S13 Redtop going into a 91 240sx. So here's my problem. When everything was hooked up... all except the vacuum line to the wastegate and the carbon canister (have no idea how to hook that up on the SR). So all the vacuum lines are plugged of I this I know for sure, when I first cranked it, it would run really really bad and if I let go of the clutch the motor would stall and die on me, I even hear pistons knocking so what I did next was went to heavythrottles website and setup the timming exactly like they had it there and now the motor cranks but does not catch at all. Oh and I have the turbo piping all hooked up also and made sure it's not leaking. I've did a spark test and there was spark, I did a compression test and there was compression, I also made sure there was fuel pressure using a fuel gauge. I'm thinking it might be the timming but I've set it up exactly as HT had it and resetted it 3 times again just incase I did it wrong but nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys for putting up with this.

Check if your ecu is turning on. There should be a red light in your ecu that you should see light up when you turn the key to on.

Did you ever setup the wastgate and carbon canister? The wastegage tube comes from a hole somewhere between the intercooler and the TB, while the carbon canister feeds into the intake right infront of the turbo as well as, on the other side of the canister it leads to a tube right into the block.

If that doesnt sound identical to the problem my car is having. If you figure it out, let me know. Maybe I can then instruct the shop doing my install on how do get me going.

I'll definately let you know. Today I was able to get it to run but if I step on the gas... and let go of the gas, the RPM drops then stalls. Oh and does anyone know how to set the timming on the SR20DET... I have a timming light that hooks up to the sparkplug wire and the SR20DET don't have sparkplug wires, well it does but not like distributor systems.

Did you turbo the idle mixture screw up a little? Counter clockwise to keep it from dropping too low?

On the 4th spark plug...there should be a black wire that is on your coilpacks...clamp that black wire with the timing light...should be near the firewall...remember that the black wire will be near your 4th spark plug coilpack.

Well turns out that the instructions that came with my ignitor chip was incorrect. The site I got the wiring info from is http://sr20det.nismo.org/srtech.htm. Scroll down to the link named ECCS Wiring or click this link to see if it works http://sr20det.nismo.org/eccs_wiring.zipNow the car starts and idles at 800rpm but when I rev it past 2k, the rpm would drop all the way to zero and stall. Not sure on where to go next but still experimenting. Oh and does anyone know if the SR20det has the same timming chain noise problem as the KA24de? Thanks Guys!

That does make sense, the SOHC I have is from a junkyard and the MAFS has all sorts of crap on it. I'll take a look into it.

where do you live? check maf wiring. the white wire and the black wire should be in shielded wire and the black and white not. with the key on, check the voltage on the black and white wire. should be 12v. if you can start the engine, let it warm up and then look at your boost/vac gauge. should be between 18 and 20 in hg. also check to make sure your ecu plug is in tightly by using a 10mm wrench. for timing, so long as the cas isn't in 180 degrees off, it will start and run with the adjustment in the middle. the idle and the timing are going to change hand in hand. so for the timing to be set, the idle has to be correct. is this a s13 or s14?shaun

Try cleaning the maf and also reset the ecu. It might be in failsafe mode.
