After finally getting one of the most potient Japanese performance sedans, I long for something more; more power. Which leads me to my problem, which path should I chose. To build my engine and transmission up for an all motor platform or should I take the easy way out and slap on a snail and laughing gas. Please note that there is a 4.6L mustang with a blower acting like hes hot soup and putting the myth about slow 4 doors so sleep would be a great demonstration . Your input would be greatly appreciated.

It really depends on what you want out of the car. What kind of transmission do you have?

Do both, sleeve the block, add forged rods, pistons and crank, balance and blueprint and then add a T/C or S/C and giggle gas. Build your transmission to the hilt , add high stress axles, a good exhaust system and WALK AWAY from that effing Ford any and every time. The VQ30DE is a strong engine, however it was designed by engineers who in their worst nightmares never even considered their "family car" to be running 8-20psi of boost. It exceeds even the most optimistic of expectations. Your stock VQ will get angry and grenade itself if you don't build it properly and boost it. If it were as easy as just slapping on a T/C or S/C I'd be boosted too. So to make a long story short, DO BOTH, and whatever you do, BEAT THE MUSTANG and then tell him Fords are pieces of sheit!!!

Hal was pulling 560hp with stock internals and stock injectors. Honestly, I would leave the internals alone and put a Stillen SC on it with a small pully. That should give you enough power for base Mustangs without any issues.

Actually was looking around for a 6spd from a 06 maxima, beef that up and go. Hoping the 6spd fit in place of the 5spd being mated up with the engine and all

I'm pretty sure the mount is positioned differently on the 6 speed. Why even change the trans? It's not like it's going to do anything to increase power.

HlH0501 is his screen name (another Louisville guy). At one time he had the badest Max in the US. Turbo + 125 shot of N2O. He sold the Max a couple years ago and now has a turbo IS300 that requires a parachute to stop.

The 6spd wouldn't be to increase power but rather alowcate it better than if i change the gear ratios in the 5spd that is in there right now. also it adds to the sleeper effect, a 4 dr "slow"maxima that has an extra gear to play with. The gear ratios in the 06 maxima 6spd would add to quicker acceration and higher top end, but might not happen as you previously said that mount was positioned differently; thus making it a whole new issue to deal with
