I hope to sell my auto s14 soon and get another s14 with a little cash left over. The problem is Im just stuck between a badass all motor KA or turbo'n the KA. I would have around 2500 to 3000 to work with, but if I go all motor, I wont have to throw all my cash down at once. The main thing I want is something reliable, I cant afford to have something major go wrong with my car. I know its always a risk with any car you mod, but I would think going all motor that there would be less of a chance of something going wrong. And I dont want something with 400 whp, but around 200-250 whp would be nice. I dont know for sure what I can get with 3k going all motor, thats why Im asking you guys, but I know I could get a decent turbo setup and be running 8-10 psi at around 250 whp. I know there are not many turbo KA 240's around here (if any) and I know that there are not many all motor ones either. Just like some input from my fellow 240 owners on which way to go.

It will cost you a lot to go all motor and get 200-250whp out of that motor, so go turbo.

You won't be able to make 250hp all motor. Period.

200 is pushing it (bored and stroked, p&p, cams, high compression pistons, blah blah blah)

Turbo that summa******.

I'm thinkin someting like 280 crankhp is the upper limit with 110 octane and a somewhat barnsided budget.

Run a Ebay special Super 60 with a small front mount intercooler

For your price range, turbo itBecause all motor requires a minimum of 5000 grand to make a reliable 220crank hp KA

KAT...I mean you can run a little boost and not stress the motor too much...or run it all motor on the ragged edge. Well, maybe not REALLY ragged...but still, the KA was never made to be a really high rev motor which most all motor engines are.

Yeah.....

besides with your bdget, you wont get far. 3000 is a good start for a turbo project. You could ebay it for under 2000 if you REALLY wanted to. 3000 is even almost enough to get a manuactured kit.....

i'd look at the greddy turbo kit for $3k... low boost, no intercooler, but hp in that range you're looking for. Should be pretty reliable and is *supposed* to get CARB certified (legalized) soon. You could always just do nitrous too, but thats not always on and is definately not reliable :P

Ya turbo it, 5000000 is a bit much to get it to 220hp at the crank.:pface

How about gas mileage? I heard with turbo you get like 15mpg, is that only high boost? What mpg could I expect with 6psi?
