what year is your car?

the instrument cluster could be faulty/bad. the cluster is a main part of the CANbus computer system on the car. all the sensors are in series and run through the cluster to display the CEL, and other lamps. if it goes bad you will get some codes because the cluster is not passing the sensor data onto other parts of the system.

sputtering can be caused by a faulty petrol pump thats clogged or the motor/pump is on its way out.

could also be the IPDM as well. search that.

yes you should get the codes diagnosed at once. depending on your mileage and if you are the only owner or not, you may have other issues (cracked manifolds for example).
