ALL ELECTRICAL DEAD !

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

My EX35 has been running fine, no problems with starting or anything electrical. I have 3K on my car. I went to the Texas game last Saturday, parked in the parking lot, came out and all electrical was dead. Nothing worked, had to use the emergency key to get inside the car. Called Infiniti road service. Took them 1 hr. 30 minutes to get there ( I wasn't out in the boonies, I was in Austin, TX). I also called my Infiniti dealer where I bought my car and they were not very helpful either. Finally they did send out a car delivery guy who put a battery booster on it to see if it would start. NOT ! After 2 1/2 hours, me and my EX arrived via tow truck at the Infiniti dealership. The car delivery guy gave me the paperwork to fill out and gave me a loaner car to drive home, which is 60 miles from Austin. Monday afternoon the dealer called and said they installed a new battery. I brought it home, but I can hardly believe a battery would go bad instantly like that. Anyone else have any of these kind of problems?I do know now that I purchased my EX35 from a bad dealership with the lack of customer concern that was shown to me when I finally did arrive at the dealership, Austin Infiniti, Austin, TX.

Yes i would agree, a battery would not die so quickly however not impossible but with a booster you should have seen some power in the vehicle it seems to be either a relay or a fuse to me.. hopefully was an isolated incident.

It's possible that your battery had a dead cell in it, causing it to die like that.

It's also possible that your alternator wasn't charging your battery properly as well. If this happens again, make the dealer replace your alternator.

My battery died 20 mins into me owning the vehicle.

I kid you not I signed the paperwork and was putting items into the new car from the old car. The whole car died and would not do anything. They quickly put a new battery in it and all was fine.

It happened to me too. I was stranded at the parking garage of Orlando International Airport at !:00AM in the morning. I left the car more than couple hours though. I was told there was a dead cell in my battery and after the battery was replaced everything went back to normal.

Murphys Law strikes again.

It's never what you want to happen to your new car and having a dead battery at a sporting event has to be just about the most inconvenient for a major issue. The likelihood of leaving something on (interior light or a door maybe partially open) increases when you are distract.

I am in no way trying to blame the owner for this incident, the car has intelligent power distribution that should cut power if something is left on and the battery voltage decreases to a certain point.

I think something may have been keeping your BCM awake, I wonder if any of you guys were parked next to any other cars? or something that transmits a repetitive electronic signal like that is received by car causing constant verification and not allowing the control modules to go into sleep mode. This is the only practical reasoning I can think of for this, especially if it is only a one time occurrence. I know of no parasitic draw issues with any EXs at this point from my experiences both here and at work.
