I own a 1998 Nissan Quest GXE. All the door locks are horrible being very difficult to turn or wont allow me to insert the key. I suspect rust since the locks were never used for years.

I was considering replacing the cylinders (if that is possible on these anti-theft vehicles)if necessary but considering all the new lock cylinders will now require a different key from the ignition i was wondering if the existing locks can be cleaned / repaired.

Thx for the education.

Maybe try "dry graphite lubricant" before considering replacing anything...

Thanks. I really would like to get inside the lock. Does anyone have the guide on how to remove the Door Lock Cylinder?

I would suspect the worn key first. With Hondas you can get a key cut by the key number, dunno if you can get the same done for Nissan. If your key is worn, it would not lift the sliders enough and you would feel like it's hard to turn.
